The Minister of Health spoke about a conscious way of eating

    Γ&iota ;εσνεδτοδιφorς ;ησουργγες </p> <p>Overall health is achieved when we take the time to use all five of our senses to appreciate the overall experience of eating, Health Minister Michalis Damianos said on Friday</p> </blockquote> <p>In his greeting at a press conference on the occasion of <strong>Pan Cypriot Nutrition Day</strong>, Mr. Damianos said that “we can achieve this by eating slowly, avoiding at the same time eating in front of the TV, computer or mobile phone”.</p> <p> < p>He added that “a healthy lifestyle is not simply the choice to eat foods with low calories and in small quantities but it is the conscious choice of foods according to the state of health of each person and their nutritional needs”.</p> <p> < p>As the <strong>Minister of Health</strong> said, “the conscious way of eating is a practice applied in Dietetics and Nutrition that aims to plan our meals and basically invites us to think logically about the reasons that lead us to to consume certain foods at certain times”.</p> <p>He stated that “how, when, where and why we eat are just as important as what we eat, and when we reflect on why we make certain dietary choices, we have time to consider the pros and cons of our choices and ultimately begin to eat more consciously and extension healthier.”</p> <p>In relation to combating eating disorders such as anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and binge eating disorder, he said that “we should identify the differences between physical and psychological hunger, be aware of present, i.e. the moment we eat or want to eat, and pay attention to the effect of food and our sensations when we eat”.</p> <p>Referring to the theme of the World Nutrition Day which is “Love for the Body us: The feeling of Conscious Nutrition”, the Minister of Health said that “the main messages of the World Nutrition Day concern our awareness about eating disorders and their prevention through a conscious way of eating”.</p> <p><noindex></p> <div class=Source: cyprustimes.com
