Creative ways to utilize the texts of the Ancient Cypriot Secretariat in the modern educational process wanted to highlight the Δ’ International Scientific Conference of the cycle “The Ancient Cypriot Secretariat through the ages”, with the theme: “From the Ancient Cypriot Secretariat to the Modern Greek Literature”.
The conference took place on October 25 and 26 at the House of O. E.L.M.E.K. in Nicosia and at the Pancypriot Lyceum of Larnaca respectively.
According to an announcement by the Ministry of Education, the purpose of the conference was on the one hand to highlight and promote the Ancient Cypriot Secretariat and on the other hand, through an interdisciplinary approach and a fruitful critical dialogue between the academic and educational community, to highlight creative ways of exploiting the texts of the Ancient Cypriot Secretariat in the modern educational process.
Through the close and long-term cooperation of the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth with the Department of Philology of the Faculty of Philosophy of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and the Laboratory of Cypriot Studies of the Department of Philology of the Faculty of Philosophy of the E.K.P.A., the Department of Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies of the University of Cyprus, the Association of Greek Philologists of Cyprus “Stassinos”, the Association of Greek Cypriot Philologists of O.E.L.M.E.K. and the Center for Literary and Cultural Studies, “ all the above objectives were achieved and the work of the Conference was crowned with success”, the announcement of the Ministry states.
