Archbishop Chrysostomos II, who passed away at the age of 81, on Monday morning, Cyprus said goodbye today at the Cathedral of the Apostle Barnabas in the Archdiocese. /p>
The Archbishop's funeral was presided over by Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, who visited Cyprus for the first time.
Present at the funeral were the President of the Republic, the President of the Hellenic Republic, the local political leadership, representatives of other Churches and foreign countries and a large number of people.
Equids were delivered by Nikos Anastasiadis, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, the Ecumenical Patriarch, Paphos George, as well as a representative of the Pope.
The body of Archbishop Chrysostomos has been buried in a special crypt, under the Cathedral of the Apostle Barnabas, as it was his desire.
