The members of the coordinator of the “As Dame” initiative, Dora Irakleous, spoke about who they are, their ideological views but also about what they want to achieve with the mobilizations they organize, in POLITIS 107.6 & 97.6. According to Ms. Irakleous, the event is co-organized by many platforms and social groups, mainly from the extra-parliamentary left, while environmental and other organizations also support it.
Dora Irakleous called on the whole world to participate in tomorrow's demonstration, in a clearly peaceful mobilization, claiming – as she said – better education and health, an end to the management of the pandemic in terms of repression, the immediate support of workers and unemployed, locals and asylum seekers affected by the pandemic, etc. “We want the march to be organized, massive and without incidents,” he added.
Referring to the events of last Saturday and asked about the presence of hooded men in the protest, Ms. Heracles said that “we did not see hooded men, we saw helmets with gloves”.
Tomorrow's demonstration – considered illegal by the state – will take place at 16:00, in Kolokasi Park in the center of Nicosia
