He stressed that the state has the obligation to support, strengthen, strengthen and open roads for our fellow citizens, who are in a more unfavorable position than the rest of the citizens. Mr. Tornaritis thanked from the bottom of his heart CNP insurance and RIK for always supporting this ambitious, human effort “which at the end of the day unites people, unites Cypriot citizens”.

The General Secretary of AKEL, Stefanos Stefanou gave AKEL's contribution and stated that, “we are here again this year at the Radio Marathon to express our congratulations to the initiators, the organizers, the protagonists, the many volunteers who participate in this festival of of humanity and solidarity”.

He added that “we also support this effort which is very important and at the same time I want to say that both the Radio Marathon and the massive participation in the Radio Marathon, both in terms of offering and contribution, simply reminds us of the need like the state, the state has in practice the first priority of support policies for children with disabilities with health problems, both for them and their families”.

The President of DIKO, Nikolas Papadopoulos, said that the Radiomarathon should continue this valuable social work, this valuable institution for the society of Cyprus to continue to offer the necessary support to children facing health problems, to struggling families who need it practical support. Therefore, he continued, “once again we must congratulate the organizers for the continuation of this important institution, which moves us”.

The Press Representative of ELAM, Geadis Geadis, said that the Radio Marathon is a celebration of charity, a celebration of volunteering. ELAM, he said, “as a political party that stands next to our needy compatriots, known for its charitable action, supports the Radio Marathon and at the same time calls on citizens to embrace this project”. He continued, the message we will send should be that there should be a welfare state, a welfare state that will support the vulnerable groups of the population.

The President of DIPA-Collaboration, Marios Karoyan, stated that, apart from the symbolism, the contribution this year will also be for the memory of the Archbishop. Handing over the contribution to the Radio Marathon, Mr. Karoyan stated that for another year we are participating in it the festival of humanity, an institution that has established itself in the consciousness of the Cypriot people and that reminds us that our obligation is not exhausted just in theoretical positions, but in practice we should prove that humanity, altruism, solidarity, but also the rights of children should be institutionally guaranteed. The state, he continued, even in these difficult times, should renew and enrich its arsenal, “so that we can really be much more strongly, much more noticeably present in everything that our children need”.

The Deputy President of EDEK, Maria Vassiliadou, said that in a world affected by disasters, pandemics and wars, only humanity is left to hope for a better tomorrow, for us and our children. Fortunately, he said, “humanity still exists in our country, which is why the response to the call of the Radio Marathon for financial support for the effort to support our special children is great”. Nevertheless, he stated that the responsibility for supporting children and their families rests with the state. The state must be a helper and support children and their families on a continuous and uninterrupted basis, in a holistic way, so that all their needs are met and with simple procedures so that they don't suffer, he concluded.

I think there is nothing similar in Cyprus like the Radio Marathon and I should congratulate everyone and the organizers and especially the volunteers who pour into the streets for such a good cause”, he said. The reality, he continued, is that “we expected the government to help and not need to do these things, but it seems that voluntary help will always be needed”.

In any case, he said, “I congratulate all the volunteers and everyone who participates in this gigantic effort for a better future in our country”.

Mr. Christodoulidis also congratulated the Cyprus Radio Foundation for the support and said that this is an indication that by joining forces we can clearly better meet the expectations of the Cypriot people and the problems facing society.
