For the Municipality of Paphos, which will not include communities, 23 councilors and a Deputy Mayor are elected
The new registrations in the electoral roll for the district of Paphos were a total of 6,359, said the Deputy Prefect of Paphos and Commissioner of Elections of the Electoral District of Paphos Giorgos Chrysafinis, adding that the objections will vary this number to some extent.
In statements of KYPE, Mr. Chrysafinis said that the movements concerning the province amount to 2,593. Regarding the Municipality of Paphos – which will be the metropolitan Municipality – Mr. Chrysafinis stated that the new registrations amount to 4,166 and the movements to 998. Of the new registrations, i.e. 6,359, he continued, 4,521 concern European citizens.
Mr. Chrysafinis stated that “we declare that we are ready and we will help the people to exercise their rights but we will also be helpful to the extent we can to these candidates”.
For the Municipality of Paphos, in which no communities will join, 23 municipal councilors and a Deputy Mayor are elected.
The Deputy Prefect of Paphos also said that the Municipality of Eastern Paphos (now Geroskipou) will consist of five apartments. In total, he said, 11 municipal councilors and five deputy mayors will be elected, of which 8 municipal councilors and one deputy mayor from the Geroskipou Municipal District. councilor, two councilors are elected in Konya and one councilor in honor.
Also, the Municipality of East Pafos continued, electing a Mayor. The Municipality of Eastern Paphos and the Municipal Districts of Agia Marinouda and Achelia elect one Deputy Mayor, the Municipal District of Konia elects one Deputy Mayor and the Municipal District of Timis elects one Deputy Mayor.
In the Municipality of Akamas (now Peyia), nine councilors and seven Deputy Mayors are elected. Specifically, the Municipal District of Peyia elects five municipal councilors and a Deputy Mayor, while the Municipal Districts of Akoursos, Kato Arodon and Pano Arodon elect one Deputy Mayor and no municipal councilor. The Municipal District of Inias, like the Municipal District of Kathika, elects a municipal councilor and a Deputy Mayor, and the Municipal District of Kissonerga elects two municipal councilors and a Deputy Mayor.
In the Municipality of Poles Chrysochous, two municipal councilors are elected and 14 Deputy mayors. The Municipal Apartments of Polios Chrysochous and Argakas elect a Municipal Councilor and a Deputy Mayor. Also, the Municipal Departments of Agia Marina, Androlykou, Gialia, Druseia, Krito Terra, Makounda, Neo Chorio, Nea Dimata, Pelathousa, Pomou, Teras and Chrysochou elect one Deputy Mayor and no municipal councilor.
A total of twenty-seven Deputy Mayors. and forty-five municipal councilors will support the four Mayors of the Paphos district, who will be elected on June 9, in the framework of the Local Government elections.
School Superintendents
Mr. Chrysafinis mentioned that a number of school tax officials are appointed by the Municipal Council of each Municipality and a number of them are elected. In Paphos, he continued, they will have 7 school governors and 4 will be appointed by the Municipal Council.
