Shortly after midnight, members of the Police who were on patrol on Nikaia Avenue, in the area of Kato Polemidia, spotted four young people spray-painting on a wall next to the boulevard and approached the young people for control.
According to the Police, when the young men noticed the police, they fled, while they threw stones and other objects at the members of the Police, including a flare that ended up in a nearby field, resulting in a fire. The fire was extinguished by members of the Fire Service who rushed to the spot.
One of the four suspects was located on an adjacent street by a member of the Police and was arrested. He is a 26-year-old man who was detained for police purposes.
The Polemidia Police Station continues the examinations.
