Oil prices rise 4% plus after surprise attack by Hamas on Israel over the weekend, raising concerns about the consequences for production and supplies in the black gold-rich Middle East region.
The price of a barrel of Brent oil surges (+4.7%), to $86.65 a barrel, while that of the barrel of the American reference variety West Texas Intermediate also (+4.5%), to $88.39 a barrel, shortly after the start of the trading in the Asian commodity markets.
