Increase in incidents of thefts and break-ins as well as incidents unfolding in the old town of Nicosia > they cause a headache for the authorities, as well as for the shopkeepers and residents of the area.
Theft and break-ins from properties are a daily phenomenon with the shopkeepers reporting them to the Cyprus Times indignantly.< /p>
In recent weeks, as a resident of the area complains, there have been incidents of sticking by drunk citizens who broke shop windows and attacked police officers who were called to the scene to enforce the class. The authorities also made a number of arrests for various cases of theft and burglary.
