What does a European report say about corruption in Cyprus and the Auditor General

The report, under the auspices of the UN, has as its central theme the state of the rule of law in the EU.</p> <p>In the report (the reference to Cyprus is made on pages 32-33 and 148) it is stated that there have been positive developments regarding the disclosure of assets on the island, with the competent authorities recognizing “personal development” and “progress”.</p> <p>Cyprus, as noted, monitors compliance with human rights during the implementation of financial programs of the EU.</p> <p>In the report, however, reference is made to members of the European Organization for Human Rights, who have suffered attacks, hate speech or even intimidation through social media.</p> <p>Among the states that are given as an example include Cyprus.</p> <p>“In Cyprus, the Auditor General of the Republic, inappropriately tried to influence the parliamentary process for the re-appointment of the head of the NHRI (National Human Rights Institutions), without however , no success”, it is characteristically reported.</p> </p> </p> <p><noindex></p> <div class=Source: politis.com.cy
