Με ελλαδικσ ψor&phi οοκοοουμολ οηςεπς–τικεισ ; για Κyπρο /></p> <p> </source> </p> <p>A serious, negative development for Cyprus has occurred in the Parliamentary Assembly of the <strong>Council of Europe</strong>, after the approval of Mrs. Doras Bakoyannis' Proposal for Kosovo to become a member. </p> <p>This is a development, which can create a precedent for the case of Cyprus as well. <strong>The KSSE plenary yesterday approved the Bakoyannis Report </strong>and the matter will now be brought before the ministers. However, it will be difficult to overturn the result.</p> <p><strong>This issue</strong>, after the turn – the Ustasta – made by the rapporteur and her proposal for Kosovo to become a member, which, by the way, is not a member state of the United Nations<strong>, had, as is known, caused turmoil and reactions. </strong>Mainly from Cyprus, but also Serbia as well as from a number of states, which will be affected.</p> <p>This is a development that we <strong>expect to find before us as the Republic of Cyprus</strong> strong> and which is <strong>expected to make the most of the possession side. </strong>It is noted that both Kosovars and Turkish Cypriots have observer status in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. Those from Kosovo will be members after it is approved by the ministers.</p> <p>Furthermore, it is noted that before there was a change on the part of the rapporteur, there were conditions and conditions for Kosovo to be admitted to the CSCE. These conditions were partially met.</p> <p>For the sake of history, let us mention that the two representatives of Cyprus, Giorgos Loukaidis of AKEL and Christiana Erotokritou of DIKO, who fought to prevent it, as well as Nina Kasimati (SYRIZA) from the Greek side, voted against the Report. Alexis Tsipras and George Papandreou abstained. </p> <p>The rest of the Greek delegation, coming from New Democracy, voted in favor following Mrs. Bakoyannis. The report was voted with 131 votes in favor, 29 against and 11 abstentions. It should be mentioned that the KKE member of parliament, Liana Kanelli, who was absent for health reasons, had sent a letter noting that because the vote <strong>“<em>is of extreme importance for my party and me, my refusal should be recorded</strong> em></strong><em>, i.e. AGAINST the vote, please replace me only with a fellow substitute member, who will have the same negative vote as Mrs. Kasimati, who assured me about it. If for any reason it is not possible, let my position remain vacant so that my negative vote is not altered”.</em></p> <p>It should also be mentioned that Mrs. Bakoyannis and the Greek delegation at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe they had recently visited Cyprus and had discussions with both the government and the Parliament. During the discussions, the different approaches were confirmed.</p> <p>It is clear that this development will create a precedent with the separatist entity, the occupying regime, in Cyprus.
