Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said today that it was “extremely difficult to believe” that Islamic State would have been able to carry out the attack on the Moscow concert hall last Friday. in which 140 people were killed.
Russian officials have repeatedly disputed Western intelligence claims that Islamic State was responsible for the attack, although the group itself claimed responsibility, suggesting instead that Ukraine is behind the attack.
Zakharova also said that Russia is grateful for the expressions of support and sympathy it has received from around the world, following last Friday's terrorist attack.
