Bank of Cyprus Oncology Center is a powerful weapon in the fight against cancer

During the third decade of its operation and offer, the Bank of Cyprus Oncology Center has become the flagship in the treatment of cancer, having established itself in the consciousness of the Cypriot society as the most important weapon in its treatment.

World Cancer Day, established on February 4 by the International Union Against Cancer (UICC), with the aim of effectively treating and controlling cancer, finds the Bank of Cyprus Oncology Center as well as the whole world facing Covid-19 . The goal of the Oncology Center since last March, with the spread of the pandemic in Cyprus, was to care for all cancer patients in a completely safe environment, based on strict restrictive measures. Assistants in achieving this goal were the Cancer Patients Associations, organizations, organizations and close associates of the Center who serve it selflessly (Cyprus Anti-Cancer Association, Pancyprian Association of Cancer Patients & Friends – PASYKAF, Europa Donna Cyprus, Europa Donka Cyprus A Dream A Wish, Christina A. Apostolou Foundation, Association of Dietitians & Nutritionists of Cyprus), as well as the health workers of the Oncology Center, who with self-denial continue to be in the front line.

The Bank of Cyprus Oncology Center was established in cooperation with the Republic of Cyprus and the Bank of Cyprus and offers services since 1998. It is considered the largest and most successful partnership between the public and private sector in Cyprus, for the benefit of cancer patients and society at large.

It is the first hospital in Cyprus and Greece that has received the quality certification of CHKS (Caspe Healthcare Knowledge Systems), the leading hospital accreditation body in Europe and is ranked among the most distinguished hospitals in terms of operational and quality standards. To a large extent, thanks to the Oncology Center, Cyprus has one of the highest survival rates among the member countries of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

On the occasion of the World Cancer Day, the Oncology Center of Bank of Cyprus, organizes a Pancyprian Student Competition, which is addressed to students of Lyceums and Technical Schools. The competition, supported by the Bank of Cyprus and is rewarded with cash prizes, started last November and will end on March 5, 2021.
