TechIsland and Adsterra have announced the launch of Women in Tech® Cyprus under the umbrella of the official global organization Women in Tech®.
Women in Tech® is the world's leading STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) Equality, Diversity and Inclusion organization with a mission to bridge the gender gap and empower women to deal with technology.
This global movement has gathered nearly 190,000 members, with 45 local chapters around the world. As of 2018, over 300,000 women have benefited from various educational initiatives and mentoring, as well as development programs. The movement aims to empower over 5,000,000 women by 2030.
Women in Tech® Cyprus is an open and free community that welcomes the participation of women of all ages working in the field of technology, as well as men who support women's empowerment. Through the international Women in Tech® network, members of the Cyprus branch will have access to a Global Mentorship Program and a wide range of educational programs, including the one with the global accelerator Plug & Play. The programs are offered for different age groups and include the development of skills such as coding and blockchain, but also soft skills such as role modeling and career bootcamp. Additionally, community members have access to a Talent Hub with a dedicated Job Board for HR Professionals.
As part of networking, the community maintains a very active Telegram Chat and organizes regular meetings for all members. Those interested can participate as volunteers to support the day-to-day operations of the branch, but also as mentors within the Global Mentoring Program. Soon, the annex will also announce an Advisory Committee.
Women in Tech® Cyprus is led by a three-member local team consisting of TechIsland COO Tanya Romanyukha who acts as the Ambassador of the Cyprus branch, Gala Grigoreva, CMO of Adsterra and Community Director in Cyprus and Nadiia Bogdanova, BMD at AdQuantum and CY Chapter Partnership Manager.
The next meeting of Women in Tech® Cyprus will take place on December 13, 2023, at 19:00 in Limassol, in the presence of the Commissioner for Gender Equality, Jozi Christodoulou. The event is sponsored by payabl.
