Police are continuing the search for a 70-year-old woman, who has been missing since noon on Sunday, when she went to the beach of Finikoudes with a friend and entered the sea for a swim.
Late yesterday afternoon, the search for the woman was completed, which started on Sunday, under the coordination of the Search and Rescue Coordination Center (KSED), since after three days nothing had been found.
The searches had started from the coastline and the sea of Pervolia, Kiti, the area of Finikoudes, Oroklini, the river Liopetri and reached as far as Cape Greco in the free province of Famagusta.
According to the Police, after the end of the investigations by the KSED, the Force has now taken the responsibility, which will continue the work of locating the woman, according to the protocol of missing persons.
The pedestrian patrols by the Police will continue, while it is expected that there will be a positive result for locating the woman, from the improvement of the weather conditions.
Police urge the public to be careful when walking on the seafront and notify the nearest Police Station if they find anything.
It is noted that during the search for the woman, the KSED activated the National Special Search and Rescue Plan “NEARCHOS” and involved, among others, vessels and fleets of the Port, Naval and Air Wing of the Police, divers, men of EET SKI, British Dekelia Naval Base, infantry teams of the Civil Defense and Larnaca Police Directorate, volunteer teams with small boats, ETEA / PSEK rescue team, Drone and Coast Guard Surveillance System of the KSED, Drone of the British Bases with groups of citizens.
