The roads leading to Troodos and other roads in the mountainous areas of Limassol and Morphou, open only for vehicles with four-wheel drive or equipped with anti-skid chains, are around 10.00 before noon on Friday, according to the Police.
Specifically, the roads Platron-Troodos, Karvouna-Troodos and Prodromou-Troodos, which in the morning remained closed to all vehicles, with the improvement of the weather conditions, have now been given to traffic, however only for vehicles with four-wheel drive or equipped with anti-skid chains.
Pedoula-Prodromou, Pedoula-Pine Wood-Kakopetria and Papoutsas-Agios Theodoros roads remain open only for vehicles with four-wheel drive or equipped with anti-skid chains.
Police recommend special attention to those who travel on the road network of mountainous areas, while drivers are called to move at a safe, low speed, to maintain a safe distance from oncoming vehicles, and to give priority to other passing drivers where necessary.
It is pointed out that the situation on the road network is changing due to the prevailing winter conditions.
