The Municipality of Nicosia announces the tender announcement for the renovation of the site of the old GSP.
As he states in his announcement, this is a very important project in the heart of Nicosia which will greatly enhance the effort to develop and upgrade the historic center of the capital.
The renovation in the area of the old GSP aims at the creation of an urban square, green spaces and recreation areas as well as the construction of an underground parking space with a capacity of 570 vehicles, it is added.
The Municipality states that the underground parking is expected to serve both the above uses and the wider area of the urban center, including its shopping center within the city walls. It is considered crucial for the revitalization of old Nicosia and for the enhancement of sustainable mobility through the use of Nicosia Minibuses, the starting point of which is located within the project.
The budget of the project amounts to 19,720,000 euros, plus VAT, and includes the construction of the project and 10 years of maintenance. The works are expected to last 24 months.
The project can be co-financed by the EU Cohesion Fund, the state budget and the Municipality of Nicosia, within the programming period 2014-2020.
