The Annual General Meeting of the Cyprus Editors' Union takes place on Wednesday, but without elections, due to the recommendation of the Administrative Commissioner to postpone them and amend the articles of association.
In a letter to its members, the ESK states that on Wednesday, at 10:00 am, at the Press Center, the Annual General Assembly of the members of the ESK will take place as usual, as a review of the year and also as a review of the three-year term of the current Board of Directors .
“Open appeals will not be held at tomorrow's meeting, due to the Report and recommendation of the Commissioner of Administration dated 1.12.2022 recommending the postponement of the elections and the amendment of the Statute in terms of specific provision”, it is stated .
This postponement, it is added, “is done under protest after the ESK Board of Directors has exercised its legal rights and has registered an Appeal against the above Report and recommendation and as well as an interim application for the suspension of their execution which has been set for a Hearing on 15.12.2022”.
