These Holy Days, the messages and symbols of the Passion Week, reveal that after darkness always comes Light. We draw strength, but also inspiration, from the humility of Jesus Christ and faith, as well as from the message of the God-man, which leads to the path of salvation.
Easter is the victory of Life. It is the predominance of the forces of Good. It is the eternal Light, which condemns death and “washes away” the sins of the world.
The Easter joy and happiness are overshadowed, however, by the pain of our divided homeland. Inevitably, our gaze turns to the victims of the Turkish invasion and continued occupation, the trapped, the refugees and the families of our missing.
At the same time, our thoughts turn to the peoples who suffer from the sufferings of war and uprooting. To those who suffer, or are sick. To the disadvantaged and vulnerable. In general, to all who are in need of a miracle, such as that of the Holy Days we preach.
Our primary pursuit, as a Democratic Party, was and remains to end the unacceptable occupation and division of our homeland, which has been bleeding since 1974. At the same time, our goal is to contribute to give the necessary economic breaths and relief to households. To strengthen the social state and to give the necessary dignity to living. Equally, to strengthen the rule of law in our country and to strengthen our fellow citizens' sense of justice.
This year's celebration finds our country faced with many challenges, at various levels. We must remain united, since this is the only way we can hope to overcome them.
