The Ministry of Agriculture issued an announcement, in relation to the letter of the Movement of United Cypriot Hunters to the President of the Republic, with which they requested the suspension of Kostas Kadis and the General Director of the Ministry.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment (YGAAP) expresses its surprise at the content of the letter of the United Cypriot Hunters Movement (KEKK) to the President of the Republic, requesting the resignations of the Minister and the Director General of the Ministry, with due to the availability of the Director of Veterinary Services, Christodoulou Pipis. The Ministry opposes the characterizations, insults, empathy and disparaging comments about the Minister, the General Director and the staff of the YGAAP. He considers that apparently the text of the letter was formulated without its authors having before them the facts of the specific case or having received one-sided and completely misleading information. Both from the relevant report of the European Commission and from the Report of the Investigating Officer who investigated the matter, findings emerged that led to the documented decisions taken by the Ministry, based on the public interest. It is noted that the specific issue is also being investigated by the Auditor General, on the basis of whose reports the other administrative and disciplinary investigations mentioned in the KEKK letter, and concerning the Director of Veterinary Services, were or are being conducted. The Ministry remains committed to the implementation of its work and serving the public interest, far from any expediency.
