After poverty comes public health, jobs, defense, security and the climate crisis. According to the Eurobarometer, the immigranthas ceased to be the number one priority of the citizens of the bloc, despite the promotion of the issue in the media and the political campaign carried out by the right-wing and especially the far-right parties in the last year.What the Eurobarometer data show
European public opinion poses poverty and the crisis of cost of living,as well as social exclusion as the sub’ number one issue for voters going to the polls in early June to elect the new European Parliament.
The fight against poverty and social exclusion (33%) as well as public health (32%) are the main issues that concern voters at the European level. The corresponding percentages in Greece are 55% and 56%, while 55% mention supporting the economy and creating new jobs as a priority.
